TABLE-TOP EXERCISE
FILM MAKING
We used stop-motion animation filming in order to create our production company logo. In order to film this all, we used the HUE camera and attached it to the mac book so we could film it more easily. We moved a fish to create the idea that it was swimming and then made bubbles with ‘fishy films’ in separate letters. Slowly, the letters came out of the fish's mouth. . The bubbles slowly moved to the centre of the frame so it is clear that 'fishy films' is the production name.
Next we did a table-top exercise and filmed different objects e.g. pearls or a gold frame from a birds eye view. In order to film it smoothly, Flo stood up tall and carefully filmed it all slowly so we can see all of the props. The camera slowed down gradually whilst filming important objects like the picture of the woman in the frame so we can draw the audiences attention to it. We then edited those shots and put them after the production company logo and added non-diegetic Billie Eilish music over those clips.
As a group (while I was away) we filmed live action clips of Maddi Hewitt walking down a staircase outside the mansion and putting a baby down with some pearls. We edited this after the table top exercise with the same Billie Eilish music- the song 'my forever'. This developed the film because we can get an insight into the characters and what the film is about. In our case Maddi put a baby down with some jewellery which proves significant because that must be a key part of the film and makes us question why she is leaving her baby with some jewellery.
We edited the film introduction on imovie. I added sound to the stop-motion animation for fishy films by finding water and bubble sounds to make it more realistic. Additionally, when we added music to the main film introduction we played music from Flo's phone and recorded that from the MacBook so everyone had to be silent. Our film title was 'sakura' and we added credits e.g. Director, Honor Moxon and Lighting, Tabi Duffy.
I think our production company logo went very well although it took a while to film the stop motion because we had to take so many pictures and are fingers were in some of them. I wasn't there when we filmed the rest of the introduction but from what I saw, it seemed to be a triumph. Altogether I think our movie introduction as a whole went very well and worked out well in the end.
